I hope you enjoy tonight's episode as it cost me dearly to bring it to you. When I left the station, I found my bicycle saddle-less. Also, the station's podcast machine was on the fritz and recorded the show at way too high a level but I have painstakingly re-edited the show to include the originally sourced music, so only my own brief pontifications are on the "hot" side of things. The rock remains pristine! And what rock it is - some funky Alice Cooper deep cuts and covers, news on the briefly re-united Wheat Pool, Paul Kelly and a bunch of his Aussie pals, and whadaya know - Tami Nielson is coming to town! When I first heard that the guy who sang "Hair" was in a band with our beloved local hero, Jeffrey Hatcher, this aging punk-rocker couldn't help but laugh. It took a mere moment to stop laughing and start cheering when I first saw Billy fronting the Blue Shadows along with Jeff. That cool, piercing stare, the exquisite attention to musical detail and that voice! The two albums that the Blue Shadows recorded are forever positioned in my Coolest Albums Ever short list and the handful of times I saw them live are each among my fondest live music memories.
